A quick and easy stir-fry loaded with tender beef, crispy broccoli, sweet onions and carrots.

  • Wok or large skillet

For the marinade:

  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • three tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • 1 pound flank steak (round or sirloin steak are okay) trimmed of fat and sliced thin against the grain

For the sauce:

  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • loving cup oyster sauce
  • cup h2o, or substitute chicken or beef broth
  • one teaspoon sesame oil, optional
  • 2 tablespoons lite brown saccharide, packed
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch

For the stir fry:

  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
  • iii small-scale onions, cut into wedges
  • iv cups broccoli florets
  • 1 medium carrot, peeled and cut into match sticks
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh grated ginger
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed cherry pepper flakes
  • scallions, sliced for garnish
  • 1 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds, for garnish
  • hot cooked rice for serving

To prepare the marinade:

  • In a medium basin combine 1 teaspoon cornstarch, baking soda, 3 tablespoons soy sauce and 1 teaspoon vegetable oil. Add the sliced steak and toss to coat. Cover and set up bated for at least thirty minutes or upward to 4 hours, stored in the fridge.

To prepare the sauce:

  • Combine all the sauce ingredients and whisk until blended. Set up aside.

To fix the stir-fry:

  • Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat until shimmering. Add one-half the beef in a unmarried layer, if possible, and cook until browned on one side and crisp around the edges. Turn the beef slices and continue cooking for about 2 minutes more, or until no longer pink. Remove to a plate and continue warm.
